Like everyone else, I too was shorted a little over 6' of wire.If you do order this product, just make sure to buy ~20% more wire than you plan for. The problem is the amount in the spool. That way you have enough to finish the job. .it's for the amount you receive. The wire itself is good quality and the different color wires makes it easy to keep track of + and -.
I had to buy another 40 feet from Home Depot.Metra should relabel their spools to say "approximately 100 feet". I needed 200 feet I got 175. I bought two spools of the Metra 14GA speaker wire and although its terrific wire both spools were not 100 feet. One roll was around 85 the other around 90.
Problem is, that one piece was a little less than 90' long, or 10' shorter than advertised. Someone is deliberately shorting these rolls. wire as advertised.
Do they just stand there and guess how much is on each roll. Has anyone, honestly, ever received a roll with more than 100' on it. It can't be a metric/inch conversion thing, some people are complaining about being shorted 30'.
It's 14 ga. The thing that I don't understand is, who measures this stuff. I didn't think so.
Well jacketed with thick, clear poly and it came in one piece. I guess if we keep writing about it here and tell Amazon customer service about it, dummies (like me) will stop buying it and maybe they'll either get a new supplier or just tell them to stop shipping less than advertised.
Second, the wire is half a copper and half aluminum. I read many reviews about this product but i didn't think its that bad and ordered one. I'm thinking about to buy other one from another brand. And other thing is that it's not really a 14 gauge as expected. Now i'm very desprate about it. First, it's not 100' long, but only 92'.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the actual length of the wire is definitely not 100 feet - more like 70 or so. I finally got my speakers and started running this wire.
